A very busy summer…

This summer has been busy musically for Owain. Some of his highlights include singing in St Paul’s Cathedral with the Hogan Ensemble and conducting the RSCM Millennium Youth Choir in Durham Cathedral. He also attended a National Youth Choir course, based in Tonbridge, which included a performance of Bob Chilcott’s ‘The Angry Planet’ in the BBC Proms, as well as a concert in Salisbury Cathedral. In the middle of August, Owain was delighted to learn that he had been accepted into Trinity College Cambridge, exceeding the conditions of his offer. Later on in August, Owain visited Durham with the RSCM Millennium Youth Choir as assistant conductor, working with conductor David Ogden and accompanist Daniel Moult. Owain’s composition, ‘Let thine heart keep my commandments’, was performed several times on the trip, including St Mary’s Church, Lindisfarne. At the beginning of September Owain gave an Organ Recital which began the St Cuthbert’s annual Music Festival in Wells. On the 6th September, Owain begins his tenure as the Senior Organ Scholar at Wells Cathedral, which he is very much looking forward to.
