The Mid-Wessex Singers began Somerset’s festive season with an array of carols, old and new, to a captive audience in St Michael’s Church, Somerton. Performances by the choir were interspersed with congregational carols and festive readings, and there was even time to relax with a glass of wine and some mince pies. Two of Owain’s carols were performed, including the ‘fireside carol’ While Shepherds Watched, which can be viewed on YouTube. Plans for the next concert are already underway, but now the choir are taking a well deserved rest until the new year.
